Gas Flow Instrumentation
PRM integrates automated, fixed-position, continuous, gas-monitoring analyzers into our Landfill Gas (LFG) packages allowing for Greenhouse gas destruction verification. The fixed Landfill Gas Analyzer monitors the three primary gases: CH4, O2, and CO2. These readings help in analyzing system performance and carbon credits are calculated on these readings. These analyzers can be added to existing systems or they can be redesigned. PRM’s primary system is the Siemens ULTRAMAT. We can integrate ABB gas monitoring systems as required. Our systems can be configured to collect a wide range of data from other equipment such as flow meters, blowers, gas analyzers, liquid control systems, and co-generation equipment. Design concerns include instrumentation classification, gas conditioning prior to sampling, equipment calibration, data retrieval, calibration, drifting, and accuracy. Properly configured systems will ensure reliable data.

Siemens ULTRAMAT
The Siemens ULTRAMAT is a multi-component gas analyzer, ideal for Landfill Gas applications. Automatic calibration means calibration gases are needed less often. IR, UV, H2S, and O2 sensors are available, and the improved menu-guided navigation makes operation more efficient for service personnel. The ULTRAMAT allows for up to 4 components (CO, CO2, NO, SO2, CH4, O2, H2S) in a 19″ withdrawal unit housing.
Features
- Calibration gases are not required (AUTOCAL with ambient air, depending on the measuring component)
- Multilayer detectors e.g. low cross-sensitivity to water vapor
- Cleanable cuvettes
- Menu-guided operation in plain text
- Open interface architecture (RS 485, RS 232; PROFIBUS, SIPROM GA)
- Remote operation and control
Landfill Gas Portable Analyzers
PRM offers the GEM™ 2000 and 5000 series handheld monitors designed specifically for use on landfills to monitor landfill gas (LFG) extraction systems, flares, and migration control systems. The units sample and analyze the methane, carbon dioxide, and oxygen content of landfill gas with options for additional analysis. With one instrument you are able to measure gas composition, pressure, and flow in various points of your gas extraction process.
Features
- Measures %percent CH4, CO2, and O2; volume; static pressure; and differential pressure
- Calculates balance gas, flow (SCFM) and calorific value (KW or BTU)
- High accuracy and fast response time
- Lighter and more compact
- Certified intrinsically safe for landfill use
- Calibrated to ISO/IEC 17025
